Damp Treatment
Before any treatment of damp problems is considered, the source of dampness must first be identified. It is important to thoroughly examine walls and fix leaking gutters, cracks in brickwork and other issues which might be the cause of dampness. If such sources of water ingress have been ruled-out as the source of dampness, buildings should be examined for signs of rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation.
When considering the treatment of damp, attention should be paid not only to different methods of damp treatment, but also to products used to treat the damp related problem.
Safeguard offer a full range of products for treating the source of dampness and treating damp issues, such as mould growth, efflorescence and visible damp patches on walls.
The Dryzone System offers a full range of products to treat rising damp and renovate affected walls after the treatment.
Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream is the only BBA-accredited masonry waterproofer on the market. One treatment with Stormdry protects masonry from penetrating damp for up to 25 years. The treatment doesn’t effect the appearance or breathability of walls.
The Stormdry range also incorporates treatments for faulty pointing, cleaning products and a penetrating damp test kit.
Dryzone Mould Resistant Emulsion Paint was specifically developed for treating the effects of condensation on walls.

This treatment prevents black mould growth, even in high condensation areas, and leaves a washable surface.
