Outdoor buildings are under constant attack from the natural world. Softwoods are naturally absorbent, letting moisture seep in to develop into fungal growth and rot.
Roxil Coloured Wood Preserver penetrates deeply into the wood to form a protective barrier against moisture degradation.
Its biocidal component stops fungal growth in its tracks and prevents further damage.
UV and rot resistance keeps stained timber fresh through the seasons. Natural weathering and sun exposure causes dead fibres to build up on outside wood. This process, called silvering, drains natural colour from wood and turns it a dull silvery grey.

Roxil Coloured Wood Preserver can be applied with a brush. For larger surfaces like shed walls or fencing, it can also be safely sprayed. 2 wet coats will ensure your wood is preserved, and the surface will be touch-dry 1 hour after application.
Roxil Coloured Wood Preserver is an easy-to-use second step in your three-step Roxil wood treatment course. After cleansing the wood with Roxil 100 Wood and Patio Cleaner, Roxil® Coloured Wood Preserver maintains the natural condition and quality of wood.
Following application, Roxil Wood Protection Cream or Roxil Protection Liquid can be used as an overcoat to complete the full protection of garden furniture.

This product can be applied with a brush or low pressure sprayer. No Stirring of the product is needed prior to use. This product is recommended to be applied in 2-3 coats, allowing 1 hour between each coat. Avoid over saturation as this could can slow the drying time.

Thank you for your question.
Due to the biocidal components within the Roxil® PC Coloured Wood Preserver, this product is not suitable for use on outdoor tables for food preparation and/or areas which may come into contact with food.
However, Roxil® PC Coloured Wood Preserver can be used as a primer before Roxil® Wood Protection Cream, to give maximum protection, and increase the lifetime of timber. If the Roxil PC has been over coated with Roxil® Wood Protection Cream, it would be safe to use the treated timber for dining.

Is the Roxil coloured wood preserver safe to use on a beehive? (External surfaces only)
I notice in the product notes it says 'avoid prolonged contact of pets'. Is this only when drying or is that the case even when dry.

Thanks for your question. We don’t recommend Roxil Coloured Wood Preserver application directly on to a beehive.
Roxil Coloured Wood Preserver is an undercoat. As long as it is fully dry and overcoated, wooden surfaces are safe for contact with pets. Make sure your finishing coat of choice fully seals the wood from water ingress.
