I have a house with roughcast external walls painted several years ago with Sandtex ultra-smooth masonry paint. One area has some hairline cracks in the render and there is water ingress. Is Stormdry MAX Enhanced Waterproofing Barrier suitable for use on this type of painted surface?

Stormdry® MAX Enhanced Waterproofing Barrier is a clear gel coating providing lasting waterproofing, crack-bridging and anti-graffiti protection. It can be used on masonry, stone, concrete, selected metals and painted surfaces - this includes roughcast render.

Stormdry® MAX bridges cracks up to 0.6 mm wide, any defects larger than this should be suitably filled and left to cure before Stormdry® MAX is used.

surfaces - this includes roughcast render.

Stormdry® MAX bridges cracks up to 0.6 mm wide, any defects larger than this should be suitably filled and left to cure before Stormdry® MAX is used.

Stormdry Max Enhanced Waterproofing Barrier has a semi-gloss appearance which fades over time. How long does this fading take?

Typically, it can take 6 to 2 months for the semi-gloss finish to fades. This is dependent on how thickly the Stormdry Max has been applied in the first place. The thicker that it has been applied, the glossier the finish will be.
When initially applying Stormdry Max we recommend applying a thin even coat to avoid runs or drips in the final finish.
