Safeguard Europe was founded under the name Safeguard Chemicals on Friday, May 6th 1983 in Horsham, West Sussex. On that day, we defined our company mission as "for damp coursing, damp proofing, protection against dry rot and woodworm, and the preservation of wood and protection of buildings".
We quickly grew to become a major player in the UK building supplies market.
The 1990s saw the range expand to include Renderguard plaster additives and Raindance DC, a colourless water-repellent for protecting masonry from penetrating damp, among other advancements in damp-proofing and timber treatment.
Our Horsham head office continually grew to advance our training, research & development and customer service capabilities.
In 2000, we revolutionised the world of rising damp treatment with Dryzone Damp-proofing Cream.
This unique silane/siloxane-based cream equipped the industry with a solvent-free, spill-proof and more effective alternative to conventional chemical injections.
On March 29th 2010, we launched Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream after 3 years of intensive research and development. A massive leap forward in penetrating damp protection, Stormdry succeeded Raindance DC and Raincheck Plus as the ultimate masonry brick sealant.
Breathable, highly waterproof and invisible, Stormdry became approved by the British Board of Agrément in 2015 for energy economy and heat retention, sustainability, durability and more.
On 20th March 2017, we released the Roxil Landscaping range. We applied our mindset of anti-damp innovation to outdoor timber and created the powerful waterproofer — Roxil Wood Protection Cream.
This range has expanded to include coloured wood stains, preservatives, cleaners, oils and more.
In 2023, Safeguard Europe is Built to Protect. Our extensive range of building materials protects the home from pests, damp, rot, excess condensation, mould growth and more.
We run monthly CPD Webinars on a variety of damp-related subjects, including mould and retrofit insulation.
