Dryzone Fast-Set Renovation Plaster
Sets in just 2 hours
Breathable - allows walls to dry naturally
Controls dampness and salt migration
Natural cement base
Dryzone Fast-Set Damp-Resistant Renovation Plaster contains natural cement and special additives for high-performance damp control and salt migration prevention. The high breathability of the plaster ensure that it dries in just 2 hours. Dryzone Fast-Set Plaster has a porous structure to ensure that moisture vapour continues to flow through the wall.
Replaster after rising damp treatment, with Dryzone Damp-Proofing Cream or Dryrod Damp-Proofing Rods, in traditional or heritage buildings.
Dryzone Fast-Set Damp-Resistant Renovation Plaster was specially developed to set faster than competing renovation plasters. Its porous structure allows moisture to evaporate from walls, achieving a dry decorative surface.
Remove all skirtings and architraves which cover any contaminated plaster. Remove all damp and/or salt contaminated plaster to a height no less than 300 mm above the maximum level of visual rising damp.
Remove any timber fixing grounds that are present in the masonry, then proceed with the application of Dryzone Damp-Proofing Cream or Dryrod Damp-Proofing Rods as per normal.
Dryzone Fast-Set Renovation Plaster should be mixed with a drill mixer. Pour 4 litres of water into a container, then slowly add all the plaster to the mix. Start mixing the product at a low speed to minimise dust generation. As the paste begins to form, the mixing speed may be increased. Leave to rest for 5-10 mins for a thick and stable mix.
For particularly high suction or dry backgrounds, first wet down the surface using clean water. Do not use other additives such as PVA. Dryzone renovation plasters are applied in two layers. The first layer is a rough coat of 5 - 10 mm thickness. This will act as an anchoring layer for the second layer, which should not be applied until the rough coat has become sufficiently firm.
Apply the second layer of Dryzone Fast-Set Renovation Plaster to a minimum thickness of 10-15 mm. For more specific application instructions, please refer to the product datasheet.
Level the plaster with a simple straight edge or adjusters to maintain the thickness without using excessive pressure on the product. It will set within 2 hours at 20 °C, but may take longer at colder temps.
Dryzone Fast-Set Renovation Plaster can be left as a decorative finish. Any other finishing (e.g. application of a skim coat) is carried out once the curing process is complete, after at least 14 days. Dryzone Mould-Resistant Emulsion Paint can also be used as a finish.
Good product only just finished walls long term don't know.
Delivery was prompt. Product does exactly what it says. Easy to use, albeit expensive. Unfortunately I ordered too much. I've contacted Safeguard to ask about this, but haven't heard anything back.
Easier to mix and use than other brands. Quicker setting which is ideal for smaller projects. Coverage is fairly accurate too. Bit to early to comment on exactly how good it is til it's all dried and painted, but first impressions are promising and seems to be drying out quicker than other brands. Quite expensive considering it's a 20kg bag but if it does the job correctly its worth the extra money in my view.
