Dryzone Damp & Stain Seal, a versatile damp seal paint for internal walls, combines the properties of anti-damp paint with a high-performance stain block primer paint in one easy-to-use solution. It delivers outstanding mould and mildew resistance and is compatible with a variety of surfaces, including plaster, cement or stone walls. The quick-drying Dryzone formula allows for redecoration within four hours following application, streamlining the restoration process for both professionals and home renovators. Dryzone Stain Block seals water and oil stains permanently to efficiently seal moisture-prone surfaces, prevent bleed-through and provide a base coat for decorative finishes. It can be applied directly to damp surfaces for immediate internal remediation that can be carried out while a fix for the underlying cause is being dealt with. Dryzone is a trusted brand for homeowners and contractors seeking efficient and lasting rising damp, penetrating damp and traumatic damp remediation. Available in convenient 500 ml or 1-litre tins.
Before use, ensure the root cause of damp has been identified and addressed. Rectify leaks, rising damp, or penetrating damp with the appropriate repairs or treatments. Open windows and doors for ventilation, ensure the surface is clean, dry (not dripping wet), and free from dust, loose materials or flaking paint. For salt-contaminated or severely damaged areas, remove affected plaster up to 1 metre above the damp and replaster as necessary with Dryzone Renovation Plasters. Always take care to appropriately diagnose and address the underlying damp issue before application. In case of salt-contaminated substrate, remove existing plaster up to 1 m above the damp and replaster with Dryzone Fast-Set Plaster. Otherwise, Dryzone Damp & Stain Seal can be applied directly. Stir the paint well before use. Apply with a brush or roller and take care to ensure even coverage. Spread generously over the affected area, extending coverage approximately 30 cm beyond the damp or stained region. One litre covers up to 5 m², depending on the surface's porosity and texture. Allow the surface to dry for 4 hours before applying a decorative finish such as paint or wallpaper. Drying times may vary based on environmental conditions. Clean tools immediately after use with white spirit or a paintbrush cleaner. If staining reoccurs, ensure the underlying damp defect has been fully rectified.
