Drybase Tanking Slurry
Resists water pressure on concrete and masonry surfaces
For use both above and below ground
CE-marked and BBA-approved
Preventing water ingress in new build and older structures is no small feat, especially below ground & where water is always present. Installation and renovation projects involving basements and other below-ground structures, may require a high-performance tanking slurry that can stand up to water pressure and the elements.
Here at Safeguard Europe, we keep buildings dry. Drybase Tanking Slurry is a cementitious, pre-bagged BBA-approved surface waterproofer for use on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. It is durable, capable of withstanding heat and frost for all-weather and environment coverage. The waterproof formulation has been tested to resist water pressure for up to 7 bar (approx. 70m head).
From water retaining structures such as swimming pools and water features to basements below ground and even to simple damp-proofing above ground, Drybase Tanking Slurry is an effective multi-surface waterproofer.
No matter the size of the job, Drybase Tanking Slurry prevents water penetration. From residential damp-proofing to massive engineering works, it is a proven vapour-permeable waterproof barrier, allowing for the natural transfer of moisture vapour.
Drybase Tanking Slurry dries efflorescence free. Its highly breathable composition can also be used for substrates that surround steel to prevent rebar corrosion.
Drybase Tanking Slurry is waterproof due to its special composition of cement, quartz with graded grain-size distribution and selected additives.
It is easily applied by brush, trowel or render spray machine for flexibility and ease on the job.
Drybase Tanking Slurry is a highly versatile material. Its specialised formulation has been used in large-scale civil engineering works and commercial contractor basement waterproofing projects all the way down to single-wall above-ground damp-proofing jobs.
Be safe in the knowledge that Drybase Tanking Slurry will provide protection from moisture ingress, no matter what the job is.
Once applied, Drybase Tanking Slurry forms a tough coating for stronger adhesion to Drybase Universal Mortar and other concrete or masonry substrates. Drybase Tanking Slurry should be applied by trowel or spray in 2 coats It can be applied to clean, flush-pointed brickwork, rendered walls and open-pore concrete substrate.
The superior bonding performance of Drybase Tanking Slurry makes it an excellent choice for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. Foundations, retaining walls and slabs can all be tanked with Drybase. Repairs prior to application can be made with Drybase Universal Mortar and water leaks can be filled with Drybase Waterproof Plug.
Drybase Tanking Slurry is approved by the British Board of Agrément and proven to show resistance to water and resistance to sulphates with a life performance of the structure to which it is applied. Drybase Tanking Slurry will last in contact with groundwater and sulfate-rich soil that could otherwise cause serious structural damage.
Trusted by contractors on projects of all types for years, Drybase Tanking Slurry is the waterproofing and tanking solution for:
Basement and cellar waterproofing and refurbishment
Underground car parks
Retaining walls
Lift pits
Tanks, reservoirs and water treatment works
Fish ponds and water features
Above-ground walls
The Drybase Tanking Range is a selection of high-performance cementitious waterproofing products. They provide users with BBA-approved waterproofing for jobs of all sizes. Drybase Tanking Products are used extensively as part of Safeguard’s basement waterproofing specifications. They are also compatible for use before the application of both Drybase Flex and Dryzone Renovation Plasters.
Mix 25 kg of Drybase Tanking Slurry with 4.5 – 6 litres of tap water in a clean container for at least 3 minutes to a lump-free, homogeneous consistency. Use a mechanical mixer.
Drybase Tanking Slurry can be applied using a suitable brush (e.g. mason’s brush) in two coats. It should be applied from the bottom upwards, with excess material worked sideways. The second layer should be applied whilst the first layer is still damp on the surface.
Drybase Tanking Slurry is applied in two coats. A first scrape coat of Drybase Tanking Slurry is applied with a trowel for maximum adhesion to the substrate, working from the bottom up. Ensure that all cavities on the surface are filled to avoid trapped air. This is immediately followed by the first layer applied to the specified thickness. The first layer must be sufficiently hardened so as not to be damaged during application of the second layer. The second layer is applied whilst the first layer is still damp on the surface. It is recommended that the first layer is textured slightly using a suitable brush (wallpapering brush) whilst still plastic to ensure maximum adhesion between the layers.
Drybase Tanking Slurry can be applied with a suitable fine mortar spraying device, capable of at least 5 bar pressure and delivering 500 l/min. The recommended nozzle size is 6 mm diameter. It should be adjustable to ensure that the optimum spray pattern can be achieved. 3 layers should be applied
