Customer Questions

Radha

Hi - Could you let us know if it is better to use 'Drybase Tanking Slurry' or 'Drybase TS-Plus Tanking Slurry' to a wall below the line of a
physical or chemical DPC please?

Mollie Brown at Safeguard

Hello,
Thank you for your enquiry.

Drybase TS-Plus Tanking Slurry is suitable for above ground waterproofing and lower ground areas up to 600mm depth.
If you do need to use the product at a deeper level below ground you can mix it with our Drybase 5-bar Waterproofer or alternatively you could use the Drybase Tanking Slurry.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Jonathan Bartlett

Damp proofing needed on internal cotswold stone walls. I'm thinking of using Dryzone cream as a DPC and then Hi Lime plaster with a skim coat of finish plaster. However, if DPC is unreliable, should I use a TS tanking slurry behind the Hi Lime Plaster?

Mollie Brown at Safeguard

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your question.

As long as the wall is in a sound condition then the Dryzone DPC Cream and Hi-Lime Plaster should be more than effective for treating rising damp. However if you are considering using TS PLUS as part of a belts and braces approach then this will also be an effective alternative for preventing damp from coming through on to the plaster.

If you have any further queries please feel free to give us a call on 01403 210204.

Is Drybase TS-Plus suitable for repairing cracks in a concrete pond?
The small print on the packaging states that when mixed with water it becomes corrosive.
This begs a few questions: First how persistent is the corrosive effect. second Is the toxicity sufficient to affect aquatics if used to repair cracks in pond concrete?

Safeguard Europe

Hi Les,

Thanks for your question. We recommend mixing Drybase TS-PLUS with Drybase 5-Bar Waterproofer for ponds.

Once TS-PLUS has set (as with any cementitious coating), it is no longer corrosive to bare skin.

Once applied, you must allow the coating to fully cure over 7-28 days, then wash the finished surface to remove any residue before refilling the pond.

If you have any further questions, please get in touch via 01403 210204 so we can advise you further.
