Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry

Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry is a high-performance waterproofing slurry specifically designed for direct application to concrete surfaces. The active crystalline composition creates a penetrating waterproofing solution for concrete walls, floors and structures. The high coverage-per-kilogram of Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry makes it an ideal choice for tanking larger concrete structures.

Active Crystalline Waterproofing for Concrete

Once applied to a concrete surface, Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry the active ingredients react with the free-lime and the moisture within the concrete’s capillary tracts to form crystalline complexes. These crystal formations block the capillaries and minor shrinkage cracks in the concrete and prevent moisture ingress.

Once applied, the active ingredients in Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry react with free-lime and moisture to form crystal complexes within the concrete.

Drybase Crystalline Slurry-Protected Concrete Section

Drybase Treated Concrete

The treated concrete is now watertight whilst still retaining its vapour-permeability. It is resistant to both active and passive water pressure.

Versatile and Durable

Due to its durable nature, Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry protects concrete against seawater, waste water, ground water and various chemical solutions. It is also approved for use in contact with potable water, which makes it suitable for use waterproofing structures such as water towers, reservoirs and water storage tanks.

Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry can be applied to both new concrete or aged concrete and is effective on both the pressure and non-pressure face of a structure (i.e. both positive and negative water-pressure).

A contractor uses a spray to apply Drybase Crystalline Active Tanking Slurry to a tanked wall.

Dry Sprinkle Floor Slab Application

Power trowel dry sprinkle

Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry can be used as a waterproofing solution for new concrete floor slabs. 

It can be ‘sprinkled’ as a dry powder to wet concrete slabs after the initial set. 

Drybase Crystalline Active Tanking Slurry can then be power-trowelled into the surface, waterproofing the slab.

Drybase® Crystalline Active Slurry is a cementitious, ready mixed, in-depth waterproofer for concrete surfaces only. It consists of grey Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and a compound of active chemicals.

When Drybase® Crystalline Active Slurry is applied to a concrete surface the active chemicals combine with the free lime and moisture present in the capillary tract, to form insoluble crystalline complexes. These crystals block the capillaries and minor shrinkage cracks in the concrete to prevent any further water ingress (even under pressure).

As this is a below ground project, it may be worth considering consulting a structural specialist for further advice.

Drybase® Crystalline Active Slurry is a cementitious, ready mixed, in-depth waterproofer for concrete surfaces only. A benefit of using this product is that it is cement based, meaning its alkalinity discourages mould growth.

The coverage rates for the Drybase Crystalline Active Slurry varies, depending on the water pressure the slab is under, and the surface roughness, please see the below.

Positive or negative water pressure, dry sprinkle, brush or spray in 1 coat - 1.2 kg/m².

Moisture/no water pressure, brush or spray in 1 coat - 0.8 kg/m²
