Stops flowing water
Sets in 30 seconds
Durable - even in underwater conditions
Water leaks and seepage are common problems in water-retaining structures and when building below ground, Fortunately, Drybase Waterproof Plug offers a simple solution:
Supplied as a powder, Drybase Waterproof Plug is mixed with water to form a thick paste. Once mixed, the paste is pressed into the leaking crack or hole using a trowel. Drybase Waterproof Plug sets after approximately 30 seconds to seal the leak. The surface can then be levelled off with a trowel.
Drybase Waterproof Plug can be used internally or externally as a waterproof plugging mortar or where rapid setting and early strength gain is required.
Applications include:
Plugging water leaks and seepage
Sealing leaking cracks
Sealing wet surfaces
Plugging earthenware pipe leaks
Caulking tunnel segment joints
Immediate fixes in water structures
Installation of steel elements in concrete and masonry (e.g. handrail stanchions)
Erosion-resistant mortar for elements affected by rain
Erosion-resistant shoring of canal sealing
Underwater work
Drinking water structures
Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and free of any surface contamination. Cut leaks back to sound material, creating an appropriate chase for applying Drybase Waterproofing Plug.
Setting time primarily depends on the amount of mixing water used. The standard ratio (at 20 °C) is 1 kg of Drybase Waterproofing Plug to 0.25 litres of water. Add Drybase Waterproofing Plug to the water and mix quickly for about 15 seconds. The mixture should set in approximately 30 seconds. Use lukewarm water in cold conditions and cold water in hot conditions.
Mix Drybase Waterproof Plug powder with water and quickly mix within 15 seconds
Use rubber gloves to apply Drybase Waterproof Plug to the appropriate area immediately. Maintain pressure on the area without disturbing the material until the plug has set.
Remove excess material and level the surface with a chisel or trowel
Normal waterproofing layers can be applied on top of the plug.
Drybase Waterproofing Plug can be applied as a dry powder to substrates where a single cause of water seepage cannot be found. Place and hold the powder over the leak for 30–40 seconds.
