Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coatings

Drybase ECS Epoxy Coatings are highly durable damp-proof epoxy coatings for floors and walls. They are ideal for sealing concrete floors and walls, creating a trafficable, damp-resistant and stain-resistant surface. There are two different Drybase ECS Epoxy Coating products:

Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating White

Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating

A hard-wearing and stain-resistant floor coating that is supplied as a two-part water-dispersed epoxy resin. It is applied in two coats using a brush or roller.

Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating is damp-resistant, stain-resistant and is able to withstand foot and light vehicle traffic

1. Treating damp and staining problems in solid concrete floors (e.g. garage floors)

2. Floor and wall coating for kitchens and other food-processing areas

3. Warehouse and storage areas

4. Light industrial factory areas to give resistance to foot and light vehicular traffic

Drybase ECS CR Epoxy Floor Coating Black

Drybase ECS CR Epoxy Coating

Drybase ECS CR (Chemically-Resistant) Epoxy Coating is a two-part water-dispersed epoxy resin with enhanced chemical resistance characteristics. It is applied in two coats using a brush or roller.

Once cured, the coating is hard wearing, damp-proof and is resistant to a large range of different chemicals. This makes for use on floors and walls that are likely to come into contact with chemicals, such as:

1. Bund walls and floors

2. Laboratory floors and walls

3. Specialist warehouse and storage areas

4. Specialist factory and production facilities

Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating Application

All contact surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and provide a “light” mechanical key. Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating can be applied as a damp-proof coating to damp substrates as long as they are free from surface water. However, where Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating is being used to provide a decorative finish, it is important that it is applied to a dry substrate.

Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating should be applied at ambient and surface temperatures between 10°C and 35°C. For applications outside of this temperature range, please contact our technical department on 01403 210204 or submit an enquiry. The ambient RH must be below 85% at all times during the curing period. When working in enclosed areas, it is important to create sufficient air flow to maintain the humidity below this value. It is recommended that substrates should not have a moisture content of more than 75% RH. This can be assessed using a hair hygrometer covered with polythene for 24 hours as recommended by BS 8203.

Where Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating is being used to provide a decorative surface it should be applied by skilled operatives familiar with the application of epoxy coatings to a high decorative standard. To ensure an even finish, special attention should be paid to:

  • Ensuring that the product is applied at an even layer thickness
  • Blending in of brushed and rollered areas
  • Checking that all product used is from the same batch

Tool Cleaning

It is recommended that the tools used are cleaned immediately after use with warm soapy water.

For full application guidelines, refer to the Drybase ECS Epoxy Floor Coating datasheet, which can be downloaded in PDF format from the ‘downloads’ tab at the top of the page.

References

This coverage is based on practical application by roller onto a smooth surface in optimum conditions. Factors such as surface porosity, temperature, humidity, application method and finish required can significantly reduce coverage and should be allowed for when estimating.
