Identify - Clean - Eradicate

The Case-Bearing Clothes Moth and the Common Clothes Moth are the two most common clothes moths in the UK.

The Case-Bearing Clothes Moth is identified by its pale silver and brown colours, whereas the Common Clothes Moth has a golden-reddish colouring.

Moth Larvae of both types can be identified by their cream-coloured bodies and may grow up to 1/2 inch in length. Discarded cocoons the size and shape of rice grains may also be found. Case-Bearing Larvae build casings of fibres to protect their bodies as they search for food.

Once you’ve confirmed the presence of Clothes Moths – it’s time to wash and vacuum.
